COURSE PURPOSES:
Students will:
1. ...demonstrate knowledge of the uses of
computers and technology in schools, athletic training facilities, health and
fitness industries, as well as in personal and academic endeavors.
2. ...use
computers to support problem solving, data collection, information management,
communications, presentations and decision making.
3. ...use computer-based technology to access
information and enhance personal and professional productivity.
4. ...to discuss and manipulate varies
non-computer media used to deliver information to students and clients.
5. ...use statistical software to define,
compute and interpret data to include measures of central tendency,
variability, relative position and relationship.
6. ...review different tests and
instrumentations used to measure in health and exercise science.

Class participation is
very important since we will completing in-class projects during many of the
class sessions. Attendance will be taken at each class meeting. Major
written evaluations, in-class assignments, and outside projects will be
announced ahead of time and must be completed at the times designated during
the semester. THERE WILL BE MINI PROJECTS COMPLETED DURING CLASS MEETINGS
WHICH STUDENTS WHO ARE ABSENT MAY NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE UP. Make-up
exams/quizzes will ONLY be permitted when the individual: (a) presents an
acceptable reason for missing examination/assignment and arranges, when
possible, to complete the work prior to the date of class administration and/or
(b) provides a medical excuse in the event of unexpected injury or illness.
