The painted bricks lead to art stores.

St. StephenÕs Cathedral where we are to hear an organ recital.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7363.JPG

Nice place.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7368.JPG

EuropeÕs largest pipe organ, 17,000 pipes. Concert was wonderful.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7365.JPG

The pulpit.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7370.JPG

Napoleon, purposely facing away from the church.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7376.JPG

After an ice cream in town, back to the ship for lunch and a nap.

We launched and went through another lock.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7382.JPG

We saw many buildings with solar panels. They have to import all their oil

and donÕt wish to burn coal any longer. Smart people.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7391.JPG

Getting ready for a music festival.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7395.JPG

Arrived at Regensburg the next morning. Took a walking tour with our guide.

A little rainy but we were well prepared.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7399.JPG

More decorated buildings. David taking on Goliath.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7402.JPG

This is a very old building. High homes were representative of wealth

even if the upper stories were not used.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7408.JPG

Came to a church square where a wedding was taking place.

The wedding limo!

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7410.JPG

The church doors.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7427.JPG

There was much wealth here in the past.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7430.JPG

The hatter.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7432.JPG

They really did design and make the hat for the Mad Hatter.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7433.JPG

The tour ended at the St. Peter Cathedral.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7441.JPG

The alter with stained glass windows.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7460.JPG

Time for a taste of German beer, sausage with sauerkraut at the Wurstkuchen.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7462.JPG

A small place but very popular even in the rain.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7477.JPG

Over night we headed up the Main-Danube Canal.  The canal has 16 locks but we had to do only

10 of them to get to Nuremberg. Three were very large. This lock drops us 80 feet.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7487.JPG

Another 80 foot drop coming up.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7495.JPG

The exit opened after we went down.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7507.JPG

We then went OVER a highway. Pretty neat.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7517.JPG

The ship had a special person to do the flowers each day.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7515.JPG

The dining room is prepared for lunch. One could also go to a buffet.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7540.JPG

After docking in Nuremberg we took a bus tour. This is the inside of a coliseum-like

building built and used by Hitler for some of his speeches.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7550.JPG

This is the stadium that appears in a lot of the Hitler documentaries.

Lots of NaziÕs with swastika flags marching around.

::Danube pics sx 260:IMG_7597.JPG

Saw a lot of neat old buildings.
