German Lit Part 2
Hard to believe this slate roof.
White asparagus was ready to eat. Very tender.
Busy market square.
Our hotel in Mainz. Quite nice.
After crashing for a couple hours we had dinner in a very pleasant outdoor restaurant.
Walked around a bit after dinner and before heading to the hotel.
The next morning we are off to Eisenach via the autobahn. Our bus is the Mercedes.
We listened to Grimm and saw soybeans in flower and lots of windmills and traffic. It rained a bit.
Beautiful tree near the Bach Museum and in front of the Bach Haus.
The Bachhaus.
Coffee and pasteries.
Then a city tour to hear about Bach and Luther. Good guide.
A visit to St.
George's Church St. George's Church (Georgenkirche) where Luther sang in the
choir.
Pretty place.
Lunch.
Very narrow house.
Then off to the van and up to the Schloss Wartburg.
We had to climb a very steep hill to get there.
The guide was OK. Talked too fast.
Some nice stuff inside.
The view was very nice.
This was LutherŐs room when he was hiding out in the castle.
