India 2015 Part 1
The first thing we learned after our nearly endless trip to get there was that the entire population
of India was on the road at the same time and they were all blowing their horns.
We caught up to the bus taking everyone to see Dehli.
We passed an army housing area.
Nicer apartments
Shopping
Everything in one building.
Much construction. Many signs in English.
They like round abouts.
Nice houses behind walls. Many were owned by the British.
Many gardens along the route.
Delhi police barracks. Serious security.
Pretty grounds to offset the nasty fence.
The India Gate, (originally called the All India War Memorial), is a war memorial
located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the Ôceremonial axisÕ of New Delhi.
Officers have it better.
We are not going that way.
Typical mix of vehicles.
National Gandhi Museum
Bicycles used as trucks. We saw many. Not unlike those we saw in China.
Street food.
Street market.
Shops.
Went in this large mosque (Jama Masjid) with guide. Women had to cover up. All shoes off.
Finding our shoes.
Off on our jittney ride through the tight market streets.
The streets were very narrow and overhead was filled with wires.
Oh yes and the traffic went both ways.
A very tight spot with many wires overhead.
