India 2015 Part 9
Many homes along the river. It was extremely HOT.
Doing the laundry in the river.
I guess it was laundry day for everyone.
We have arrived.
We were greeted with music and leis.
And fresh coconut milk.
Instant relaxation.
Hot tea too.
A very pretty place.
The dinning room.
Flowers everywhere.
Our cabin.
It had AC thank goodness.
The bathroom was outdoors but walled for privacy. But not protected from the heat. 96¡!
Took a walk. Pretty place.
Some wildlife. Indian Pond Heron.
There were several bridges on the property.
And lots of flowers.
In the morning, after a very long wait, we boarded one of those boats for a trip on Vembanad Lake.
The lake is large and many other boats were out.
SomeoneÕs lake house.
Christian shrine.
Wet way to earn a living.
We went up into a channel. Many houses along the banks. Some flood protection.
They varied in quality. No power lines. Water? Sewer? The lake perhaps.
The wall kept the agricultural land protected.
We landed and took a long walk.
Breadfruit.
For sale.
Small but very nice. Electricity.
Fishing.
Our guide told us how the lake was used for irrigation.
Another Christian church.
We boarded a small boat to take us back. It had been a long and very hot walk.
The head gear we were given was very helpful.
A water culture requires boats.
Back at the lagoon we saw the miniature cows they had on the property.
Lunch came with music.
