New Zealand – Australia Part 5
Cattle, sheep, deer and now alpacas.
Dramatic sky and skyline.
It is getting late.
Back on the lake near Queenstown. It is the second largest lake in New Zealand.
After breakfast we are off on a Safari of the Scenes.
Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.
We are on the west side of the lake looking back at Queenstown.

Back in Queenstown for lunch and a stroll through the fern gardens.
New Zealand has lots of ferns.

Another really big kiwi. We are at the harbor to take a ride on a coal-fired steamer.
The 1912 TSS Earnslaw took us to Walter Peak High Country Farm where
we had a buffet dinner and saw sheep dogs work and sheep sheared.

The farm gardens had lots of flowers.
The shearing has begun.
One dog brought these sheep in from up the hill.
The sun fell as we traveled back to Queenstown singing songs along the way on the steamer.
We flew to Melbourne, Australia the next day. Spent a lot of time waiting so
we did not get there until late afternoon. Good flight.
Passport check and customs were easy. Quick bus overview and then a walk to the
Yarra River to check out the restaurants.
Our hotel had an amazing chandelier.
Our room was very nice.
The next morning we took a bus tour to get an overview of the city.

The Royal Exhibition
Building in Carlton Gardens is
one of the world's oldest remaining exhibition pavilions.
Rent a bike near the Melbourne Museum.
