Responsible for identifying and developing internships, field experiences, part-time, summer and full-time employment opportunities. Counsel pre-major students on selecting a major and choosing courses to meet their academic and career goals. Conduct mock interviews and critique resumes.

  • Counsel students and alumni on skills identification, career exploration, resume writing and job search strategies.
  • Conduct professional practice seminars and career development workshops to classes and various on-campus groups.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to incorporate new services and programs for students, alumni and employers.

  • Recognized for creation and development of one of the most effective career planning and placement programs throughout the state of New Jersey. Provided insight to directors of colleges in West Virginia and Mississippi.
  • Exceptionally successful placement rate of approximately 73% based on surveys conducted of the graduating classes. Generated scholarships, in-kind gifts and financial support from employers.
  • Particularly effective at group presentations and seminars given to classes at Stockton as well as colleges and community groups throughout the region.

1984 to 1988

Created, developed, and initiated cooperative education program. Appointed, promoted, and evaluated staff. Coordinated the dissemination of academic credit for all students within various colleges. Developed cooperative education course and curriculum. Supervised and evaluated faculty coordinators and interns. Developed and produced public service announcements. Conducted on-going program-related workshops for faculty and administrators. Attained financial support and in-kind gifts from participating employers. Counseled students on career development and job search strategies.

  • Responsible for the placement of over 1,600 students with 500 employers over a four-year period. This was a region of low employment and high poverty.
  • Developed and composed all grants to ensure both state and federal funding. Secured over $300,000 in federal grant dollars.
  • Administrated the Cooperative Education and Internship High Technology Work –Study Program. Responsible for the distribution of funds to participating employers in conjunction with the state of Pennsylvania.
