Mark Buckalew
I grew up in Southern NJ, just a stone's throw away from Philadelphia, and I've always had a creative mind as well as an eagerness to learn. In high school, I learned the ins and outs of television broadcasting along with the basics of both digital and analog video editing. Afterwards, I entered Rider University and majored in Biology. At the time, my goal in life was to become a plastic surgeon, but my plans changed once I realized how much pleasure I'd gotten from composing the many lab reports and literary critiques that my instructors demanded of me. So I picked up English as a second major and I concentrated on writing.
I graduated magna cum laude in 2005 as a Bachelor of Science, but for some reason, that wasn't enough... I wanted to keep learning and to keep writing, so I entered Rowan University's Master of Arts in Writing program. I completed my first year, along with a few short stories, and then I enrolled in Bill Wolff's web design course during May 2008. This web site is my final project for said course, so I hope you like it, because it's being graded.
Though writing continues to be something I'm very passionate about, web design has quickly earned an adjacent spot in my heart during the last few weeks. I coded this site by hand (no programs like Dreamweaver) using XHTML and CSS, and I'm very pleased with the results. If you like what you see, and you'd like me to design a web site for your business, contact me via email.
