Note:

1.  Required papers which are not handed in on or before the date specified will result in a ONE FULL LETTER GRADE DEDUCTION. No papers will be accepted later than one week from the date due.

2.  No oral presentation, if missed on the specified date, will be permitted to be given without a ONE FULL LETTER GRADE REDUCTION.

3.  Any missed exam will not be allowed to be made up without a 20% grade reduction. A total of one exam will be allowed to be made up with the above penalty applied. A missed exam in excess of one will not be allowed to be made up and the points for that exam will be lost toward the final grade.

The exception to the above will be when (a) a student knows in advance that he/she will miss an exam and arranges with the instructor to take the exam prior to the regularly scheduled class time for the exam or (b) a student is absent from class due to PERSONAL MEDICAL reasons. In this case, in order to not be penalized for missing an exam the student must present ON THE DAY OF RETURN TO CLASS a physician's prescription stating (i) the reason for medical absence from class and (ii) the inclusive dates of medical absence from class.  Any missed exam for whatever reason must be made up prior to or during the next regularly scheduled class.

4.  Fridays will be used for all laboratories. Since laboratories involve both group and total class participation, no make-ups of missed laboratories will be permitted.

5. The participation/attendance grade for the presentation of the clinical observation paper is based on the student's attendance at the two classes he/she is not presenting. No partial credit will be given.

6.  Please refer to Fall, 2000 Schedule of Courses Directory for Withdrawal Signature Schedule (p.1) and Class Attendance Policy (p.6). Both will be adhered to for this course.
