NOTE:
1. Any missed exam or quiz will not be allowed to be made up without a 20% grade reduction. A total of one exam or quiz will be allowed to be made up with the above penalty applied. A missed exam in excess of one will not be allowed to be made up and the points for that exam or quiz will be lost toward the final grade. The exception to the above will be when (a) a student knows in advance that he/she will miss an exam and arranges with the instructor to take the exam prior to the regularly scheduled class time for the exam or (b) a student is absent from class due to PERSONAL MEDICAL reasons. In this case in order to not be penalized for missing an exam or quiz, the student must present on the day of return to class a physician's prescription stating: (1) reason for medical absence from class and (2) the inclusive dates of medical absence from class. A missed exam or quiz must be made up prior to or during the next regularly scheduled class!
2. It is fully expected that the student read assigned textbook readings prior to each class. Questions for quizzes and exams will be drawn from both lecture and textbook material.
3. Please see Rowan University Attendance Policy.
4. NO LATE PAPERS ACCEPTED! (Abstract/Critique Paper, or Library Paper).
5. Practicum Hours
The student will receive one (1 pt.) up to a maximum of 5 pts. for EACH one (1) hour attended at the practicum site which is NovaCare, Holly Bush Plaza, 707 N. Main Street, Glassboro, NJ (307-0296). The practicum coordinator is Mr. Ned Lenny P.T. A student may NOT complete more than two (2) practicum hours in a week.
6. Participation as a STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINER at either an intercollegiate team practice or competition is not an excused absence from this class. It is the sole responsibility of the student to inform the assigner of student athletic trainers at the beginning of the semester of his/her enrollment in this course to prevent any scheduling conflicts.
7. It is the policy of
the Department of Health and Exercise Science that a course in the Department
may not be withdrawn from during the last two (2) weeks of the regular
semester.
