Pitman Environmental Commission - Pitman NJ

The Pitman Environmental Commission meets the first Thursday of each month, at 7:30 PM in Borough Hall. The meetings are open to the public.

Environmental Commissions in New Jersey advise local government and inform residents on environmental issues, laws and programs. For more information on Environmental Commissions, check out the ANJEC website.

Pitman uses Single-Stream recycling, which means all recyclable materials are placed in the GREEN recycle container, no sorting required.

Our recycler, RE-Community Recycling, requests that no plastic bags be placed in with recycles.   Please empty recycles in plastic bags and place the bags in the trash.

Earth Day

Each spring, the PEC sponsors an Earth Day / Arbor Day celebration at Ballard Park.

Tree Replacement

The PEC manages tree replacements on Borough Property.

Native Plants Arboretum

The PEC maintains a native plants arboretum at Alcyon Lake Park. The arboretum was created with matching funds from the NJ DEP.
