Dr. Hass earned a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from Temple University. For four years he was visiting assistant professor at the University of Delaware, and is currently visiting assistant professor at Rowan University.

He is currently an active member of APA Division 10 and sits on the editorial board for the journal, Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts. His current research projects investigate creativity and cognition from problem-solving perspectives and also the relationship between music perception and cognition skills and musical creativity.

Rick is also a multi-instrumentalist, and spends most of his time playing, and tuning his piano, and playing music with his friends Faux Slang and The Fantastic Imagination.
