Our laboratory studies (1) cellular signaling pathways controlling the gene expression response to hypoxia (i.e., low oxygen) and (2) mutation analysis using whole-genome sequencing.  We employ the two model organisms, S. cerevisiae and E. coli, and use various molecular biology, genetic, genomic and bioinformatic approaches.  If you are interested in joining the lab, contact Mark Hickman (below).
