Course Description:

This first course in engineering electromagnetics covers applications of electrostatics, magnetostatics and quasistatics in contemporary electrical engineering practice. The course also covers numerical modeling of electromagnetic systems and devices using appropriate software. 

Instructional Objectives:

By the end of this course, given a contemporary stastic/quasistatic electromagnetic device/system,  the student should be able to – 
• Write down the Maxwell’s equations that describe this device/system
• Solve these equations for simple geometries using analytical techniques
• Solve these equations for complex geometries using MATLAB.
