Course Deliverables:

  • Research and present an approved topic on an emerging/state-of-the-art area in electrical and computer engineering. Topics should be chosen from the following broad areas:
    • Systems and Controls
    • Solid-state electronics
    • DSP
    • Communications
    • Electromagnetics
    • Computer Architecture
    • Software
    • Renewable Energy Technologies (Photovoltaics, Wind Energy, etc.)
    • Energy Storage Systems
    • Energy Efficiency Technologies (lighting, intelligent controls, etc.)
    • Emerging technologies related to ECE (discuss with instructors)
  • Prepare 1 brief Research Proposal for evaluation by peers justifiying why such research is relevant, timely and cutting edge for the engineering profession. 
  • A PowerPoint file should be made available to the intructor prior to your presentation - this will be posted on the class website.
  • An Research Report, Bibliography and Tech Brief will be completed for final approved research topic - to be posted on the website.
  • Participation in a panel discussion.
  • Evaluation of assigned peer presentations. Assignments will be made by the intructors.
