Robert R. Krchnavek received his B.S.E.E. from Marquette University, his M.S.E.E. from the California Institute of Technology, and the Ph.D. from Columbia University. After receiving his Ph.D., he joined Bell Communications Research (Bellcore) where he studied laser processing for integrated circuit repair, optical interconnects, and high-temperature superconductivity. He joined the faculty at Washington University in St. Louis in 1991 and joined Rowan University in 1998. He has published over 50 articles and holds two U.S. patents. At Rowan University, his primary research interest is in nanotechnology where he is developing techniques to measure the electronic properties of individual molecules and measuring the magnetic properties of nanoscale patterned magnetic media.
