2016-2017 Registration for a Rowan Site

For those of you now employed, with a CE for the subject you are going to teach:

Effective this year, your school must register you with the state, then you register with the school where you want to attend. Rowan has three sites: Blackwood (Highland High School),  Blackwood (Camden County College), and West Deptford High School

Classes offered through Rowan meet weekly from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm (West Deptford is Tuesdays; EIRC at Camden County College is Wednesdays, and Highland High School is Thursdays). During each phase there are two, or three, Saturday classes that meet from 8:30 am- 1:30 pm, along with one online class. See the class schedules for further details. If, for any reason, you cannot attend Saturday classes, you cannot attend these sites; you must choose another location.

There are three phases of classes.

Phase I is 80 hours. It runs from September through December. The cost is $580.

Phase II is 60 hours. It runs from January through March. The cost is $435.

Phase III is 60 hours. It runs from the end of March to mid-June. The cost is $435.

You may begin the program in any phase, but need to begin as soon as you are hired (hired for Sept., begin in Phase I; hired in October, begin in Phase II, etc.)

Applications are being accepted for Phase III which begins March 21 (22, 23), 2017. Seats are limited at all of the sites.
Note: since they program changes next year, all phases must be completed before 9/17. Phase I will be offered during the weeks of 7/10/16 and 7/17/16 at EIRC at Camden County College; daily 8:30 - 4:30. If this phase is not taken at this time, you will not receive full credit for the phases taken during the year and will be required to take the new 400 hour/2 year program. This is also true if you begin with Phase III in March. Phase II will also be offered during the summer; the two weeks following Phase I.

NOTE: these sites are tentative. If there are any changes, you will be notified immediately. Please also be aware that the Saturday classes will be meeting at Camden County College in Blackwood, at an exit off Rt. 42. Since this is the last year for the program in this structure, there is a possibility that sites will be merged in Phase II or III. We cannot guarantee you will be at the same site all year.

Payment is due at your first class of each phase.

Please have a check, certified check, or money order at the first class. Anyone not paid by the second class may not attend the phase. If a personal check is dishonored by your bank, you will be charged a penalty of $50; this and the fee must be paid within one week of notification, or you will be dismissed from the program.

New Program in 2017:

The school year 2016-2017 will be the last year for the 200 hour program (it will be 400 hours after 9/17). It is possible we will offer Phases II and III during the summer of 2017. This information will be available at a later date. Once you are teaching, and enrolled in a phase, you can take the other phases even though you are not teaching. You will continue with mentoring and school evaluations once you are rehired.
