Course Overview

Welcome to the S13 Signals & Systems in Music course page for the standard section. Be certain to check the site regularly.

In this course, you will learn about the signals behind sound in both a musical and engineering context. This course is offerred with the intention that a mix of musicians and engineers (a hybrid combination of both) interacting to both create sound and compose new music. The course focuses heavily on how a sound, sounds. The timbre of the instruments used in a song are very important elements of composition.

Since there are no prereqs for this course, basic music theory and composition are also covered. Because of this, the course is intensive and fast-paced so PLEASE, remove all inhibitions and seek help as soon as you need it! There is no time to fall behind!
