MUSIC

If you have seen any other pages of my website, such as the amps, you probably have some idea that I am into music. I play guitar in the styles of Blues, Classical, and Polyrythmic Metal.Rock - whatever there exists no category... I've also been picking up on the piano when I have time to play here and there.

RECORDINGS:

I have recorded some original song ideas and some easy classical guitar pieces which you can hear clips from below. Mind you, however, they're pretty rough and in the "early" phase!

Listen to samples:

1st Arrangement (metal) - No vocals or bass (yet)

2nd Arrangement (metal) - No vocals or bass (yet)

Classical Guitar: Lagrima - Francisco Tarrega

... and for the sake of sanity, please remember these are FAKE drums; I tried my best...

MESHUGGAH Drum Track Breakdown: When learning many of these highly polyrythmic songs, it is often easier to isolate a drum line to find the guitar track's timing. I did this in acid for the intro to Meshuggah's Millenium Cyanide Christ.

LYRICS and POEMS:

I will probably just update this periodically with random txt I have laying around... hopefully every word has meaning

INSTRUMENTS:

Esteve 1GR-09C: This guitar is absolutely astounding. This was a gift from Amy on our aniversary and I am grateful she replaced my recent acoustic loss with this. The tone is superb and it is by far the best sounding acoustic, steel or nylon, I have ever played. I have always been a big fan of the cedar tops for their excellent projection and sustain, this guitar is perfect!

Since this guitar is of great value to me, I took additional measures to keep it maintained. I have a digital humidity/temp. gauge inside the case, as well as a homemade humidifier for the winter season or climate controlled buildings.

Ibanez RG 7-String: I bought this guitar a few years back and modified the pickup with an EMG707. This p/u de-noised the guitar quite a bit and it has great clarity with distortion or clean. I removed the neck pickup completely since I never use it. This and the ESP both have solid bridges - a must so that palm muting cannot alter bridge position. This also increases the sustain over something like a (crap) floyd rose.

ESP Ltd Figured 7-String: I typically play this guitar more than the Ibanez, even though they both are similar. The pickups are Duncans and really do sound good. This guitar is slightly more versatile than the Ibanez as far as styles are concerned.

Fender Strat - year ??: The strat was my first electric and it is really beat (looking). This thing is great for blues or rock and has that nice worn in, homely feeling, which I like.
