PHIL's 1987 GN - BODY/PAINT

I worked on the body of the car for about 8 months (of lots and lots and lots and lots of sanding-arghh) which included installation of a rollcage and a new DS quarter panel.  I finally just painted the car with my own colour mix.  The car has a 1K base with a House of Kolor " White Sparkle Pearl" (Dry) in the intermediate clear.  The paint is all Sikkens (and yes, it costs a ton of money).  The result:  In the sun the car sparkles like crazy - In the dark the car looks plain ol black. NICE!  Only thing I still have to do is buy and paint a cowl hood fron Token Fiberglass. The one on there now isn't painted body color, it's stock black. Here's some pics:

HOMEMADE AIR DAMS:

Pics of front of my car with the homemade air dams installed .

The air dams you see above are an alternative to buying aftermarket or replacement GN dams which can be expensive. The dams you see are made with black wallbase and aluminum sheet as a bracket backing. You can make these for less than $20 and still have some base for your house! I am going to make another set now that I have the template and design shape down. This time I will use the wallbase that comes in flat strips instead and apply my own adhesive. The reason being the stuff with preapllied adhesive that comes in rolls is very hard to get flat and straight since the adhesive becomes "wrinkled" from being rolled. Other than that, they'll hold up great and look good too.
