Topic Proposals

For your topic proposals, please submit a one-two paragraph statement concerning the main topic of your term paper. You should identify a problem you wish to discuss and indicate your position on this topic (this may change over the course of your research) at this point.

Your papers should be on topics and readings covered in class. If you wish to write on a topic not specifically covered in class, you will need to show how you will integrate class readings into your paper. That is, this should be a paper for this course that deals with the issues, concepts, and articles we are discussing.

Each major topic in our book has an introduction and each article has an introductory paragraph. You can make use of these in deciding on your topic. One of the most important things to keep in mind is to write on an issue that really interests you and will maintain your intellectual passion and curiosity.

You can also investigate issues by exploring the weblinks I have provided on this site that deal wth issues in applied ethics.
