Munich Prague Berlin

Part 9

On museum island in the rain.

In the Pergamon Museum. It houses original-sized, reconstructed monumental buildings such as the Pergamon Altar

and the Market Gate of Miletus, all consisting of parts transported from Turkey.

Some small things too.

Pottery.

Metal work.

Beautiful ceramics.

The Market Gate of Miletus.

Close up of carving on a box.

We had dinner in the Hackescher Markt; still raining.

We met up with more of the group and walked in the rain to the Reichtag to go up into its dome.

The open top was letting the rain in.

Rain and the setting sun killed the view somewhat.

A short walk to the Brandenburg Gate and picture taking.

Then we grabbed a bus to an S-Bahn stop and took the train back to our hotel.

Up the next morning at 4AM to go to the airport to catch our flight to Heathrow and then Philly.
