This author study consists of ten mini-lessons in addition to introductory and culminating activities focused on the various works of Chris VanAllsburg. The four main books in these mini-lessons are based on "The Garden of Abdul Gasazi," "Jumanji," "Ben's Dream," and "The Polar Express."
This inquiry project is a Powerpoint based upon the various versions of Cinerella. The focus was to identify where and how children's literature plays out it the world. This is a good presentation to use for teaching how variations of fairy tales all consist of the same basic elements, although their stories may be told very differently. It is also a good way to incorporate multiculturalism into the classroom.
