Introduction
You will learn about dinosaurs and recieve the chance to draw your own. Dinosaurs are fascinating creatures that lived on our earth millions of years ago.

The Task

You will learn about one dinosaur and the time period that it lived in. You will then draw your own dinosaur in the habitat that it lived in millions of years ago.

The Process

1. Time of the dinosaurs: When did the dinosaurs live?

a. Look at the picture below. Each step shows millions of years in the age of the earth.

The bottom step is when the earth was very young. The top of the yellow stair step is where we live today. Dinosaurs lived where the green stair steps begin, 245 million years ago. The Age of Dinosaurs is called the Mesozoic era. It lasted for three green stair steps or 185 million years. At the end of the Cretaceous period, 65 million years ago, dinosaurs suddenly became extinct.

b. We learn about dinosaurs by digging up their bones. These old bones found in the ground are called fossils. Click the link below to watch a clip about dinosaur fossils. Use your Back button on your web browser to return to your webquest.
