COVID-19 Operations Plan

Dear Students:

Welcome to the Spring 2021 semester in the most unusual of circumstances, still in the middle of a continuing global pandemic. Digital Image Processing this semester will be taught in HyFlex format, beginning with class held entirely on Zoom. Here is the plan for this semester:

1. We will use three forms of communications for the remainder of the semester:

a. Email

b. Slack (you will receive an invitation to the Digital Image Processing Spring 2021 channel)

c. Zoom (you will receive an invitation to join Digital Image Processing Zoom meetings)

2. The PowerPoint slides for each class is posted on the class schedule website. You can download these slides and watch them as I deliver the lecture on Zoom.

3. Please use the Slack channel to ask questions and seek clarifications.

We will adapt and make changes as we attempt this new format of instruction and learning for Digital Image Processing. In the meanwhile, please reach out to me at any time by email, text or phone.

Course Description:

Digital image processing covers the analysis and contemporaneous applications of the enhancement, restoration, compression and recognition of monochromatic images. Both classical and state-of-the-art algorithms will be employed in conjunction with appropriate software for analyzing real-world images.

Semester Hours: 3

Prerequisites: Digital Signal Processing (ECE.09.351) or permission of instructor.
