DELAWARE MEMORIAL BRIDGE RESEARCH:

An $100,000 endowment from the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) resulted in the creation of a partially-endowed chair in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rowan University. Dr. Dusseau was chosen to be the first DRBA Professor. The proceeds from this endowment are being used to fund ongoing DRBA research projects involving the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Photographic Survey of the Delaware Memorial Bridge:

The first DRBA project was a one-semester project that involved the determination of the main cable geometry in the Delaware Memorial Bridge using two separate methods – photo-imaging of the bridge main cables and field surveying of the bridge main cables. The results of these two different procedures proved to be very close. These results will provide an accurate starting point for the development of future finite-element models of the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
