- Description
- This demonstration works great before or after the Dip Needle and Compass demonstration. This small globe has a small bar magnet at its core, oriented just as the Earth�s magnetic poles are. By sprinkling the small steel strips onto the globe, students will be able to see how Earth�s magnetic field lines run. They point along earth�s surface at some points near the equator, but closer to the poles, they are pointing almost straight out of Earth�s surface, just like the ends of a bar magnet. It is recommended to sprinkle the strips over a paper towel for easy clean up.
