- To demonstrate torsion waves and transverse wave motion.

- Description
- This apparatus, a.k.a. the Shive wave model, relies on the large moment of inertia of the rods attached to the central wire to permit generation of slowly propagating torsion waves along the wire. The tips of the rods can also be used to visualize the particle motions of a transverse wave.
