- Purpose
- This simpler alternative to the resonant water column uses telescoping tubes to adjust the length of the column to half wavelength resonance with the 512 Hz tuning fork. Additionally, the supplied foam plug can be positioned in the longer tube to provide quarter wavelength resonance for both the fundamental frequency of the fork on one side and an overtone on the other side. Students can hear two different tones coming from the same tuning fork!
- Location
- room 146, shelf O4; sound sensor also on O4
- Description
- See enclosed operating instructions. The Pasco sound sensor can also be used to display the signal and do frequency analysis using Data Studio software.
