- To show that a balloon cannot exert a net force on the escaping air, causing it to accelerate in one direction, without the air exerting an equal but oppositely directed net force on the balloon, causing it to accelerate in the opposite direction.

- Blowing up a balloon and letting it jet around the room is always a good way to demonstrate the third law, as well as get attention.
