- Purpose
- To demonstrate the tendency of an object to continue moving in a straight line, at the same speed, when no net force is acting on it regardless of its previous state of motion.

- Description
- Roll the steel ball along the rim of the large plastic tray. Get students to predict its path when it reaches the missing segment and rolls on the floor. Some will be surprised to see that it continues in a straight line that is tangent to point where it left the tray.
