- To demonstrate precession of a rotating gyroscope subjected a steady torque.

- Description
- Insert the string into the hole in the axle of the gyroscope and rotate the shaft until most of the string is taken up. While holding the stationary frame, firmly pull the string and set the end of the spinning gyroscope onto the plastic pedestal. As the gyroscope tilts it is subjected to torque from the pull of gravity, and therefore precesses about its support point.
