- Purpose
- To demonstrate that hot water, being less dense than room temperature water, will rise in the heated leg of the convection tube, resulting in convection
- Location
- Room 136, shelf O6 (vertical rod in bin by door)
- Description
- Fill the tube with water and clamp it onto a vertical rod using the test tube holder. Light the burner and place it under one side then place a drop of food coloring into the top hole. The coloring will show the direction of flow caused by convection. Move the burner to the other side to reverse the direction of flow.
