Suffix (-pi)

1. The suffix, "-pi" indicates location in space and time. It may be translated as "in", "on", "inside of", or "during".

e.g.: Puñunaypin puñurqani. = I slept on/in my bed.
(puñuy = "to sleep") (-na = nominalizer) (-y = 1st person singular possessed) (-pi = "on/in") (-n = validator) (puñuy = "to sleep") (-rqa = simple past tense) (-ni = 1st person singular present tense conjugation)

e.g.: Maypin tiyanki? = Where do you live?

2. When "-pi" is added to demonstrative adjectives, place adverbs are formed.

e.g.: Noqa kaypi kashani. = I'm (right) here.
(noqa = 1st person singular subject pronoun "I") (kay = "here") (-pi = locative) (kay = "to be") (-sha = present progressive) (-ni = 1st person singular present tense conjugation)

e.g.: Qanrí, chaypi kashanki. = And you're (right) there.
(qan = 2nd person singular subject pronoun "you") (-rí = "and/what about") (chay = "there") (-pi = locative) (kay = "to be") (-sha = present progressive) (-nki = 2nd person singular present tense conjugation)

e.g.: Haqaypi llank'asunchis. = Let's work (over) there.
