Suffix (-qa)
The suffix, "-qa", marks the topic in a sentence. It's function is to emphasize the main point in a sentence. It attaches onto the very end of the word that is emphasized, whether it be a noun, adjective, verb, or member of another word class. It is often not translated into Spanish or English.

e.g. Llaqtayqa sinchi chiri. = My city is too cold.
(llaqta = "city/town") (-y = 1st person singular possessed) (-qa = topic marker)(sinchi = "too") (chiri = "cold")

e.g. Mariyachan qowetaqa kankanqa. = Maria will roast the guinea pig.
(Mariya = "Maria") (-cha = diminutive/affective "little") (-n = validator) (qowe = "guinea pig") (-ta = direct object marker) (-qa = topic marker) (kankay = "to roast") (-nqa = 3rd person singular future tense conjugation)
