M.S. Level Research Assistantship / Fellowship Positions Available
MS level RA positions are available for externally funded projects. The projects involve developing computational intelligence and pattern recognition algorithms for a variety of applications. In particular, we are working on
- Learning in nonstationary environments, domain adaptation, transfer learning
- Online learning in nonstationary environments
- Unsupervised and semisupervised learning in nonstationary environments
- Extreme verification latency
- Active learning in nonstationary environments
- Biological signal processing, early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease from EEG recordings
- Brain machine interface (we do have a dedicated EEG / ERP system).
All projects require exceptional problem solving, analytical thinking and programming skills (particularly in C/C++ and Matlab). Background in pattern recognition, in particular machine learning algorithms, such as artificial neural networks are highly desired for RA applicants.
For all applicants, regardless of native language, adequate oral and written communication skills commensurate with the requirements of graduate work is expected. RA positions at SPPRL provides —at a minimum— free graduate tuition at Rowan University. Financial support for fees, as well as a stipend may also be available based on qualifications and availability of the funds.
If you are interested, please send a detailed resume or curriculum vita, including a statement of purpose describing your interest in the project, and why your background uniquely qualifies you for this position. You are highly encouraged to download and read the recent articles published by the SPPRL group before applying, to acquire a better understanding of our current areas of interest.
You may send this material to Dr. Polikar by e-mail to expedite the process. Strong applicants will be invited for a phone interview. The position(s) remain open until filled.
