Seminar: Engineering Frontiers
Course No. 0909-498-01
Spring 2004
Presentation Content
Your presentation will be evaluated by two of your
peers - therefore, please target your presentation content to address the
evaluation criteria, described below. Please limit your presentation to 20
minutes - folowed by 5 minutes for questions.
Presentation Evaluation
A 1-2 page evaluation is required from each reviewer.
Your review should address both the speaker and the topic.
Speaker
- Organization: Did the presentation follow an understandable
format?
- Oral and Visual Communication: Did the presenter speak clearly.
Did the slides convey appropriate information?
- Technical Content: Did the presenter research the idea? Did
he/she do any analysis to support the idea? Were all objectives researched
and supported with references? Was the technical approach justified? Did
the speaker make predictions? Did he/she present conclusions and recommendations
for future work? Was there enough "technical content"?
- Professionalism: How did the speaker respond to questions? Was
the presentation made in a professional manner?
Topic
- Rigor: Is the topic based on justifiable and sound scientific
and engineering principles? What are they? Is there enough evidence to support
the hypotheses?
- Impact: Does the topic show significant promise to revolutionize/enhance
the specified application area?
- Competition: Are there other competing techniques that the topic
has to contend with?
- Prediction: What is your prediction related to the soundness/application/impact/
promise of the presented topic?
