Sandy Hook Lighthouse

Sandy Hook Lighthouse

Sandy Hook Lighthouse is the oldest operating lighthouse in the country, functioning since 1764. It sits on the northern end of Sandy Hook, about 1.5 miles from the sea, and is managed by the National Park Service. The light stays on 24/7 and is visible from 19 miles away if the weather is clear.

If you go to visit the lighthouse, you can take a tour with a park ranger. You will have to climb 95 stairs and go up a ladder.
