Current Research
My research consists of two lines. First, I am investigating how participation frameworks and technology use promote learning in urban youth organizations. I am looking particularly at expert/novice roles and the use of audience as a way of promoting higher-order thinking.
A second line of research concerns participation frameworks and technology use in teacher education. Here I am interested in how preservice teachers begin to take on professional roles.
