Feb 1, 2004: RF found 1767 Bible for sale in Phila. Rare Book & Manuscript store, "originally" owned by Mrs. Charlotte Shaler Johnson, then owned by Rev. William P. Remington [formerly of Phila & Chester, PA; Episcopal Bishop in Oregon]. Curiosity regarding how the Bible "passed" from CSJ to Rev WPR resulted in connecting the relationship. CSJ's son William Shaler resided in Chester PA so perhaps was acquinted with his distant cousin by marriage and upon death of Charlotte presented the "handsome and imposing" gilted Bible (for sale today for $1200 - no gen family record info contained, I checked) to Rev.
