All
winter long Anna and Gus worked together. After breakfast, Anna
ran to Gus's cottage and he taught her everything that he knew
about the earth and its preparation, about seeds and their nourishment.
Gus
taught her so much...
and
she taught him something too: That there is always a seed of
hope in the deepest shadows.
They
taught each other then,and
she called him "Young Gus" and he called her "Old
Anna" and they laughed every day at least ten times until
the jars of seeds shook on their shelves.
