Occupational Therapy

Outpatient Physical Therapy has the benefit of convenience to the patient with the ability to work around their busy schedule while still being able to work with the highly trained professionals. There is more of a responsibility on the patient to continue their exercises at home, but they also have the luxury to be able to do the exercises in the comfort of their own home and not in a public hospital.
Inpatient Physical Therapy is more intensive for the patient and will have a major impact on their health. They are committing all of their time to receiving treatment, and this will result in more result. For those with extreme condition inpatient therapy can help to greatly shorten the duration of treatment. It is however much less convenient because the patient is in the hospital and cannot carry on their everyday tasks.
There is often confusion with Physical therapy and Occupational Therapy. They are very similar but Occupational Therapy does NOT fall under Physical Therapy. OT focuses on the rehabilitation of patients ability to perform everyday activities specifically. This includes practicing completing making breakfast or brushing their hair. These specific treatment methods separate OT from PT, but both are very important.
