- JEOL 5200 Scanning Probe Microscope with variable
temperature stage and Hysitron Triboscope nanoindenter.
- T-M Vacuum UHV sputtering system (5x10-9 torr base pressure) with 3-2" rf cathodes, 1000C heater, rf-bias
rotating sample stage, load-lock. Each cathode is shuttered individually
and the sample has a single large shutter covering the 6" sample
platform. The unit has three mass flow controllers for reactive processes.

near-infrared light applications.
- Spectra-Physics Matisse-DX narrowband tunable
high-power cw dye laser (shares V-18 pump light
with MBR-110) and WaveTrain external frequency doubler for visible-light applications.
- Coherent ScanMate Pro
narrowband tunable pulsed dye laser pumped by Quantel
Brilliant-B pulsed Nd:YAG
laser for high energy visible-light application.
- Coherent Mira femtosecond modelocked
