Postdoctoral scientist in computer-aided drug discovery (CADD)

We (Wu group and Liu group) seek candidates to carry out CADD projects targeting GPCRs and other targets. The position allows unique opportunity to merge innovative computing approaches with experimental feedback from our experimental collaborators. The scientist will be responsible for creating new virtual screening pipelines and results evaluation methods.

Your Qualifications

	Doctoral degree in chemistry, biochemistry, physics, computer sciences or related
	Commitment to work in the structure-based drug discovery field
	Strong motivation to contribute novel ideas to CADD

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with experience in molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulations of protein-ligand systems. Linux experience and programming skills are plus for the positions.

Financial supports are available:

(a) Research Fellowship

Research fellowship results in a partial tuition waiver for the thesis track students. Students awarded the research fellowship pay $1000 in tuition per semester for four semesters regardless of the number of credits registered for each semester. The students also pay the fees at the regular rate ($154.65 per credit for Fall 2018). The students awarded this fellowship must be full time thesis track students and should adhere to the rules and guidelines associated with this mechanism.

(b) Teaching Fellowship

Teaching fellowship is awarded in addition to the research fellowship to the most qualified thesis-track students in the MS Program. The students selected for this fellowship are required to teach 8 credits of classes and receive a stipend of $12,000 per year.

Some students may be offered teaching assistantships if they are not selected for the teaching fellowship. The compensation for the teaching assistantship is based on University pay scales.
