Scope and Sequence

In your curricular teams, you will design a Health Education and Physical Education scope and sequence for each of three levels: K-5, 6-8 and 9-12.  You should develop a group understanding which will describe area responsibilities, leadership, etc. (don't assume someone is doing a job - know if they are doing it....share responsibility).   You should use your resources from other classes, conferences, websites, etc.  You can also use these articles (1)  (2)  (3)  (4).

You can use this checklist to organize your project.

REFLECTION
  1. your role(s) (use term like leader, facilitator, organizer, etc.) and when you were in that role (3 pts)
  2. the role(s) (use terms like leader, facilitator, organizer, etc.) of other group members and when they were in that role (2 pts)
  3. your specific contribution(s) (what did you actually produce/contribute) be specific (6 pts)
  4. how you felt your team worked together on the project, and (4 pts)
  5. the completed group ranking table (use 6 for a six-member group and 5 for a five-member group) where 6 indicates the best and 1 represents the least relative to individual contributions to the project - you will assign a point value 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for EACH member of your group , including yourself, according to their value in each of the following categories: leadership; work done on time; willingness to volunteer; Content Knowledge, Objectives and Mission.  Remember to replace Member 1 with a Team Member name, etc.  Once you have used a number, you can not repeat it - thus you will have only one 6, one 5, one 4, etc.  or if you have a group of 5, you will have only one 5, one 4, one 3, etc. or a group of 4 would use 4, 3, 2, and 1. The following table has been completed as an example of #5 - group ranking table. (3 pts)

SUBMISSION

For those of you lucky enough to be responsible for your group scope and sequence submission, please use the following strategy.

1. A large WORD file with information from the title page, demographics, mission statement, curricular goals, definitions  or

1. WORD files with each content area noted above as a separate file
(e.g., one for title page, one for demographics, one for mission statement, one for definitions
OR
one title page-demographics-mission statement, one definitions)

2. 3 excel files - one for elementary (K-5), one for middle (6-8), one for secondary (9-12).

3. A WORD file with your references.

If you are the designated "tech" person, please write to me with your questions.

I ONLY want files coming from ONE person in your group. :-)

These samples are for demonstration purposes - each sample has strengths and each has weaknesses.
