Assignment 1:      Chapter 2 – 2, 15 (need to do some reading for this one)

                             Chapter 3 – see if you can answer end of chapter questions but don’t hand in

                             Chapter 4 – 1, 4, 8

 

Assignment 2:      Chapter 4 – 18, 21, 23, 24 (only need to use LRFD)

Assignment 4: From chapter 6 work #5.  In addition, determine the capacity (phi Mn) of a w 18 x50 section with continuous lateral bracing, bracing at ends only, and lateral bracing at the third points assuming a uniform load is applied.  The span is 25 feet.

 

Determine the capacity of a W30 x 109 section spanning 39’ assuming lateral bracing at the ends and midpoint.
